Guided by His love

all we should be.

His love raining down.

Our bodies, our living flesh

a willing vessel

so we are called

to live as gloves of the Potter

giving our all

Like gloves of the Potter

skin for His body

with bone and flesh in this time

going and serving

out into the world

holding His hands, His fingers

His love for us all

Like Gloves of the Potter

Our bodies, our living flesh
a willing vessel
so we are called
to live as gloves
giving our all

Like gloves of the Potter
skin for his body
going and serving
out into the world

Slipping on Love
the love of our Savior
the indwelling Spirit
guiding our steps

Hunched Over in Her Grief

The sadness heavy
hanging down on her
a lead cloak
draped over her frame

Prayers for the World

In the morning
prayers for the world
an end to suffering,
of famine and war,
disasters and disinterest,
in greed on the march

That love would change
the world turning
away from ourselves
to our creator, our God

All of us can
in big ways or little
spread the good news
the love of our savior, God

Joining in prayers
in offerings to our neighbors
all around the world
one family under God

The Church a Sanctuary

Not merely the name of the room
the church a sanctuary
a safe place for all God’s children
to come, safe, from the storms of life
a place of refuge and strength
of hope and love,
caring for one another
as God commanded
and as Christ showed
living out his ministry
a servant, going to the cross for us
teaching us to love,
each one to the other
all our sisters and brothers
all needing a place of safety
may this our community be
a sanctuary ever
all welcome here

A hope, our faith
in the future
after the storms
the trials of our lives

Christ, the spirit,
God with us
living within our hearts

Going with us
all of our days
supported along the way

Though Unable to Walk in Their Shoes

In moments of trauma,
the shaking of our world
our ways shattered or torn
the community of faith
there by their side
our hope in times of strife

The spirit with us
calling us in
to bond with our neighbors
there though unable
to walk in their shoes

A Safe Place

A promise from our savior
preparing a place for us to go
a room in the mansion of God;
something special to anticipate
but here in this world
a prayer for a safe place
especially in times of strife

The church, our community of faith
there like the spirit,
right by our side
going through the struggles,
the trials, the storms of life
whatever comes our way

Leaning on our brothers,
the sisters on our way
the spirit guiding us as well
a life in community
strengthening us
caring for us all of our days
