When the mosques empty – v2

What will happen, will it be an explosion
what will happen this Friday in that land
when the mosques empty
the people done with their prayers;
Will the madman come
to rain bullets down upon them
will they cry for freedom
rising up in the square

What will happen across Libya
in Fashloom, Tajoora, Bin Ashoor
in the rest of Tripoli
will they finally rise up
will the people be free;
Will the coward shoot them
denying them their rights
will the world stand by in silence
as the day turns red with blood

saying no to the madness – v2

We can change this
what this season have become
by our choices, our decisions;
saying no to the madness
to the sin of excess
forgetting Christmas
in the blur of shopping
for things we don’t need

Black Friday consuming,
part of Thanksgiving,
taking our focus
off of the Christ;
We can change this
by our choices, our decisions;
saying no to the madness
to the sin of excess

Good News of Great Joy

I can hear the barkers
the commercial’s announcer
Good News of Great Joy
in the sales prices, the great deals,
for all the people
all over the world
Nothing of Jesus
of the Christ-child
of God who descended
who left paradise
nothing of Jesus, the man,
God who climbed the cross
nothing at all of Christmas
in this story at all

a stampede of shoppers

a stampede of shoppers
thinking nothing of Jesus
minds on sales, stuff,
nothing of Advent
caught up in waters
the mob mentality
surging forward
without thinking
the psychosis of the mob
taking over them
the crush of the mob
the lie of excess

Like a herd of cattle

Like a herd of cattle
spooked by lightning
a mob moving
without thinking
surging forward
mindless cattle
not thinking

Declaring War on His People – v5

The madmen, the madmen
Murdering, terrorizing
declaring war on his people
not “the violence in Libya”
but death in the streets
the same in Syria, in other states
The madman brutalizing
denying them rights
Killing his people
in an abuse of his might
