Blessed When We Act – v2

Blessed before the Lord

when we act on faith

when we do the Master’s will

humbly going out into the world,

sharing His love for us

while we live.

Offering mercy to the stranger

help for those in need

modeling our Savior’s life;

going to the ends of the earth

to spread His love

doing the Master’s will

while we live.

One people, one body

the church all over the world

united through Christ

unity restored

Through His sacrifice

His blood, the cross

all of mankind one

coming before the Lord

Each one, from every tribe,

every nation, one creed

falling in humble belief

on our knees before Your throne

Many sheep yet one flock

following the same Shepherd

leading us through the shadow of death

to the green meadows

of highest heaven

The Chasm between Us

Not beside me
if truth were to be told
alone God would deny me
so base is my soul

The chasm between us
infinite God and mortal man
the stuff of clay,
dust of the earth

Yet Christ makes us worthy
a bridge to the creator
the finite made eternal
by the spirit and the cross

Joining us with God
in our walk upon this earth
in dying with Christ
we share in his rebirth

Rising to the heavens
brought into his courts
communing with our maker
at the end of our days

Blessed in How We Walk

Blessed are they
in the way they walk
in their life upon the earth
not guided by the ways of the world
following the lamb instead

Going as he was sent
not fearing the world
the struggles of this earth
bolding going as his friends
doing our master’s work

Able to See God

Only able to see God
when I let go of my sin
when I humbly approach your cross
the price you paid
for my disobedience
your blood, for my life, you gave

Hold me up, oh God
against my sin, mindful of your great mercy
washed clean by the blood of the lamb
guide me to walk ever in your ways
until I may see your face

Letting Go of My Sin

Unable to let go of my sin
the depth of my shame before God
until I understand the mercy of Christ
forgiving me while he died

His prayer on the cross
that God would forgive
the harm we had caused
not knowing the terrible cost
the price he paid for us

Yet by his blood, of the lamb,
each of us are washed clean
made entirely new
as if we had never sinned
able to come before him

Reminded of your love
your mercy to me
not just my sin that I know
the grace of Christ, God come down
to dwell on earth with man

That We May Forgive Our Sin

Remembering Christ’s boundless love
his act of grace for each of us
going to the cross in our place
taking on our sin
dying there for us

Reminded of his mercy
in the forgiveness of God
each time we come in prayer
grateful for the love of our God
finding peace in him

To Be a Blessing

In the scriptures
so simple
loving God and man
walking humbly with our savior
caring for our fellow man

Blessed in the way of the Lord
not of the earth here below
walking gently in the world
that others may see God
in the things we say and do

His messengers, his disciples
through us the word is spread
softly sharing the word
going where we are led
until all have fully heard

Living in God’s Mercy

Looking at the words of Christ
in how one is viewed as blessed
living in God’s mercy
wrapped in his arms of love

Walking more gently
on this mortal coil
caring for our neighbor
loving the one who came before

Guiding by the shepherd
following in where his feet tread
lovingly sharing our savior
so others will be fed

Blessed in the Eyes of God

Seeing them blessed
the ones the world would reject
the believers, the followers
the ones that would be left behind

Not in rewards of this earth
living for treasures here
faithful to the Lord
loving their fellow man

Blessed in the eyes of God
those who need his care
humbling themselves before the Lord
finding their comfort there

To Be Blessed

Not as the world would understand
humbly walking on the earth
the meek, the suffering
those that the world would cast off

Christ, the redeemer
God coming as man
the first born becoming the sacrifice
that we would live again

Called Blessed by Christ

A hapless band of misfits
when compared to the earth
those called blessed by Christ
struggling to survive

Defined by a different standard
living in the way of the cross
following the shepherd
no matter the earthly cost

Not relying on their own selves
trusting in the Lord
turning to him alone
finding their comfort there

Called Blessed by God

A new definition
what it means to be blessed
not in the way of the world
the words of Christ instead

Not by measures of earthly comfort,
by power or prestige
humble servants of the Lord
by faith alone blessed

All the same
none better than the rest
following in our brother’s footsteps
taking up our cross every day
no matter the earthly cost

Power and prestige
free from want and pain
blessed before man
treasure here on earth

Nothing of a future
a life in heaven above
focused on the here and now
believing in oneself

All of Us Matter

All of us matter
all children of God
none of us to be left out
all who seek God
who follow the cross
to be called blessed before God

No Jew or Gentile
no dividing line
the law cast away
Governed by grace
the love of Christ
who died on the cross for us

They Matter to God

All people on the earth
not just the firm believers
the people of the book
all the whole world
loved by God
even the ones we reject

They matter to God
as much as you or I
none of them to be left out
blessed in the eyes of the Lord
each sought to be sheep of his flock
to become children of God
