You are not your own – v2

When we are called,
when we accept,
when we fall to our knees,
coming to the feet of Christ…
 
We are changed, restored,
we are brought back from the dead.
we are bought with a price,
we are no longer our own…
 
Christ has claimed us,
Christ has redeemed us, restored us,
for God’s holy purpose,
we are revived, reborn…
 
We are slaves of a new Master
sheep of his flock, disciples,
we are sent to the world
as a message of God…

Yeast for the Dough – v2

The world needing to hear
to taste the Kingdom,
more yeast to be added,
more water, more flour,
so that all would believe.
 
Mixing the yeast, water,
sharing more widely, evenly,
getting our hands dirty
working, kneading, lovingly,
all through the dough.

When he saw the wind – v3

Going to Jesus, going to His Master,
When he heard His voice, in the night,
when the Rock walked on the waters,
going, acting on faith.
 
Then he doubted, he stumbled,
When he saw the wind,
when fear caught him,
then Peter began to sink…
 
The Rock walking on the waters,
Until he lost focus, his eyes off Jesus,
when he saw the wind,
when he had doubt…
 
He felt the breeze, the waves,
He listened to the whisper,
to his internal voice, doubting,
Peter began to sink…

describing the moment,
Going to Jesus, going to His Master,
when the rock walking on the waters,
When he saw the wind,
when fear caught him,
When Peter began to sink…
 
When the rock walking on the waters,
Losing His focus, his eyes off Jesus,
When he saw the wind,
when he had doubt,
listening to the whisper,

The Winds Calling – v4

The Winds calling,
ever blowing, sowing fear, doubt,
pulling under the waves.
 
We need to be bold, to listen,
to focus, only to our God.
 
Our feet would be steady,
there upon the waters, walking,
boldly going, honoring our call.
 
How much we miss in life
when we listen to the Wind.

In Prayer, Discernment – v2

In the quiet of my spirit,
bowing my head, silently,
no words audible, spoken,
praying to You in the quiet
in the stillness of my soul…
 
Finding You there, in the stillness,
waiting ever for me, patiently,
in the quiet presence
away from the day to day…
 
Speaking when I am open,
to Your presence, my worship,
in my prayer, discernment,
receptive to Your word, oh God,
Speak, Lord, I am listening…

“I’m not who you think I am” – v5

So much a part of each of our stories,
standing before God, twisted, torn within us,
blurting out in pain, an accusation, angry,
a curse against God, finally spoken….
These words of clarity, of truth,
words spoken by God to each of us,
shattering our myths, our perceptions,
our limited understanding of God.
 
“I’m not who you think I am,
my child, my beloved;
I am not distant, stern,
I am not indifferent,
to your pain, your struggle;
I have never left you,
I never left Jesus, anyone;
I am right beside you now.”
 
These words of love, of mercy, seeking,
to cut through our pain, our anger,
to open our eyes to the truth
to the true nature of God.
The well of infinite love
with mercy, grace to heal us,
hope within God’s hands,
to bring us back to life.

I am not lost, abandoned,
Though I can feel that way sometimes,
We all struggle in life,
To feel the touch of God…
 
I am not lost, forsaken,
Because Christ died for me, for my sins,
I am not alone in this world,
For the Spirit dwells within me…

I feel totally lost – v2

I feel totally lost, chaos, bewildered,
my emotions can overwhelm me,
I feel as though God is missing,
that God has left me alone,
that God is indifferent,
to my little problems.
 
I feel totally lost,
that God has turned,
his face from me, my life,
I feel totally lost, bewildered,
my emotions can overwhelm me,
separating me from the love of God.
