With Me in My Struggles - v3

Even when I am torn,
pulled in multiple directions,
even in the midst of discerning
which way I should turn

God is always with me
with me in my struggles
guiding me through
my chaos to the other side

God will not forsake me,
leaving me wandering, lost,
even in the midst of discerning
which way I should turn

Even when I am broken,
struggling in this season,
God is always with me
whatever comes my way

My defense, my refuge
the fortress around my life
my hope in my struggle
the strength in my life

You alone Lord
have watched me in the breach
protected me in my struggles
the source of all relief

Stay with me my Savior
whatever may come
be right beside me
until my work here is done

My God, my Savior
the fortress around my heart
the rock on which I stand
in the storms of life

Peace within the maelstrom
whatever may come my way
only when I turn within
hearing his call for my days

In God’s Protection

Given what I need
gifts for the kingdom
only to believe
I am safe in God’s protection

Needing to be strong in my faith
to believe I will be secure
to more boldly serve
as the saints who went before

Only in Hindsight

Only in hindsight
in that more perfect vision
seeing that God was with me
on this walk of life

That He is beside me
there in my struggles
that it was only Him
that helped me make it through

There in the mists
the history of my memory
only in reflection
did I see the hand of God

No fault but my own
the weakness of understanding
but God was there with me
all of the time

Even when I didn’t know it

God was protecting me
shielding me from the arrows
the hope that I felt
was the loving grace of God

Even in trials
when I felt more inner peace
that was the love of God with me
even when I didn’t know it

Guiding me, leading me
through the dark shadows
into the brightness
of his loving presence

Out of the shadows
carrying my witness
God right beside me
all of my days
