a calm not so quiet

sabers rattling, rhetoric,

storm clouds building

seeds of chaos raging

schemes of the madman

life may change

in a blink of an eye

war may come to us

through arrogance,

miscalculation, now

might this be our last day – v3

Sabers rattling, rhetoric flying, unchecked, unabated

escalating tensions, propaganda, the highest stakes;

Unthinkable inexorable leading marching

leading to one place, a cataclysm, a nuclear Armageddon;

A nuclear explosion, the world on fire, people dying

the twelve hour time difference defining the nightmare

a half a world away, on the dark side, tonight already;

Morning, tomorrow, a holiday for us, tomorrow for their party

parades and missiles, the fusillade unending

dark skies on the horizon, blood in the air;

Is there any way to stop the chaos raging, leading

to war, to devastation, nuclear radiation.
