in Your perfect will...
into Your hands
I place my trust
I give my life over
Into Your hands, oh, God...
 
I surrender my demands...
I confess I am broken...
I abandon my cries for justice...
into Your hands of mercy
I trust Your judgment -
Whatever You believe is right,
Only Your love, oh, God...
 
Whatever is good in Your sight,
whatever is fair in Your judgment,
I leave these to You,
Oh, Father God Alimighty,
I trust in Your only,
Your perfect will...

We toil in the fields, the vineyards,
seeking to grow the Kingdom...
Yet we earn one wage, death
through our journey, our days...
Christ bought us salvation,
our reward in heaven...
Unearned, without merit,
Mercy, God’s gift of grace...
 
We are not saved by our work,
for we deserve damnation...
We are not paid our eternal wages,
the death we all deserve...
We receive the gift of grace
through the sacrifice of Jesus...
Unearned, without merit,
Mercy, God’s gift of grace...

I have been gifted light, hope,
joy in abundance, I have been given,
God has poured into me
living water, an abiding faith…
 
I am broken, empty, truly,
but I am a willing vessel,
water is poured within me
that I may pour it out…
 
The words I share are a gift,
a light to the nations,
a hope abiding, a breath,
a whisper of God’s love…
 
I am a broken, cracked vessel,
but I can hold God’s light,
water is poured within me
that I may pour it out…

Sounds of Scribbles – v5

Echoing sounds of scribbles,
Jots of thoughts in my journal,
Seeing some words crossed out,
Others inserted, added, forced,
How does editing sound, frenetic;
Illegible words, random thoughts,
Scratching out the rhyme,
The rhythm, fighting the meter…
 
Murmurs on the pages,
Lines through the jetsam,
The flotsam of thought,
Like word balloons, crossed out…
Words of motion, precision,
Snapping to attention,
Coming into being, alive,
On the printed page…
 
Catching myself in mid-thought,
Erasures like sandpaper.
Maybe a planer, deeper,
Milling raw oak into boards;
Fighting the knots in my prose,
Seeking to capture a moment,
Conjure an image, gossamer,
On the written page…

Every good gift
Is a gift from heaven,
Grace and blessing
Poured out on us…
 
Every good gift
Comes from the Father
Gifting us grace,
Love overflowing…
 
Every good gift
Is a manifestation of love
An offering of mercy
From heaven above…
 
Ever good gift
Comes from the Father
The source of all life,
Creator of heaven and earth…

We are who we have,
We are our own companion,
walking with us in this life,
for there is no other, truly…
 
We are our hope, our light,
our center, our balance,
walking on this earth,
in every step we take…
 
Our own life, authentic,
is our light, our message,
we must stay true to ourselves,
within our own person…

I prepare an empty page,
when I sit before Your Word,
I pray to share Your message,
a Light unto the world…
 
I prepare an empty page,
a template for this scripture,
I expect a word from God for me
in Your Holy Word…

anticipating Your provision,
You give me words to share,
the promise of Your Love…
