Listen to the cries of these people,
in hope, in despair, in protest,
crying out for the world
to come to their aid, to care…
 
Listen to the cries of these people,
noble, resolute, courageous,
carrying a heavy burden,
one we would not choose…
 
Listen to the cries of these people,
For support, for justice, for peace,
Guiding us into a future, a promise,
Hope for the days ahead…
