Here it comes – v3

I know his voice
the depth of his faith;
I can picture these words
coming to his lips.
“Here it comes
and I’m not ready”
a confession of discernment
of his state of grace.

Were you conscious
did you see their headlights
over your right shoulder
bearing down before impact
did you think
“Here it comes”.
Were these your words
when you saw them coming.

“Here it comes
and I’m not ready”
not ready for the judgment
no place to go in that moment;
Standing before God
or were you at peace
knowing your confession
submitting your life to God.
