I was not with them
not one of the disciple.
the twelve,
those who had followed
those who traveled with
Jesus.
I was not from Galilee
the center of His
ministry
not even from Bethany
where Christ raised
Lazarus.
A citizen of Jerusalem
a Levite, a servant
working in the Temple
one of the people
who heard Christ’s words.
Did I join them,
would I follow,
did I stand there
did I shout “Hosanna!?!”
Who was this man
Jesus, Messiah!
Was He the Christ,
the One foretold?
Did I stand there,
or did I join them,
entering Jerusalem
before the coming storm?
