Heard from a distance
the moment of Pentecost
the fire descended
upon the gathered disciples;
but not a babble
speaking each in other tongues
those they had never known
reaching all, the pilgrims of the world
all who had come to Jerusalem
Sheep alone, they had been,
followers of the king
empowered to witness
to his amazing love
so all may hear him
calling to each one of us
