When we remember our sin
our failings before God
needing to be mindful too
of your forgiving our sin
bringing us back to you
Made new each time, turning back to God
redeemed by the blood of the lamb
dying with him
rising on the third day
forgiven of our sin

“Loving God, hold not our sins against us; but
hold us up against our sins; so that in you we are
reminded, not of our sin, but of your forgiveness,
not just of what we are but what we might become.”
- based on prayer four, “Hold Us Up Against Our Sins”,

“Father in Heaven! Hold not our sins up against us but
hold us up against our sins so that the thought of You
when it wakens in our soul, and each time it wakens,
should not remind us of what we have committed but
of what You did forgive, not of how we went astray
but of how You did save us!”
