In our prayers
in our confessions before God
mindful of his mercy
letting go of our sin
in the forgiveness of God
Making us new, clean
righteous before God
through the love of Christ
his redeeming sacrifice
going to the cross in my place
Letting go of our sin
his grace between us
giving us a way back to him
we too must let go
remembering his forgiveness
making us whole

“Loving God, hold not our sins against us; but
hold us up against our sins; so that in you we are
reminded, not of our sin, but of your forgiveness,
not just of what we are but what we might become.”
- based on prayer four, “Hold Us Up Against Our Sins”,

“Father in Heaven! Hold not our sins up against us but
hold us up against our sins so that the thought of You
when it wakens in our soul, and each time it wakens,
should not remind us of what we have committed but
of what You did forgive, not of how we went astray
but of how You did save us!”
