In the early–morning-dew-light
the stealth of her design
the lines and connections
the intricate lattice revealed.
Ribbons, threads, whirls,
concentric ovals, tangents,
rays, lines radiating
outward;
All of her artistry visible,
a fleeting display.
Before the warming
the bleeding away of the fog
dewdrops into vapor, the
waking day;
Her trap, her net,
hidden once more
ready for her prey
her breakfast, her trap hidden
just beyond, outside
of our bathroom window.
