sometimes it may seem
that our answers are not
coming
our prayers hang in
mid-air
waiting, for God’s time
for God’s perfect plan
held in the silence
in the moment of grace
waiting for God to answer
for God to act, to hear
us
to answer our prayer
sitting in the silence,
in our busy lives
waiting for God impatient
the nature of the beast
wanting to be patient,
humble
but with human, itchy
feet
