Our life to be poured
God’s love held within
our bodies, our clay jars
broken, for anointing,
love poured out
from our clay jars;
We are vessels for a purpose,
to be broken, to pour,
to be emptied, a blessing,
to anoint our neighbors
and the living Christ.
Do we fall before Him,
to our knees before Jesus,
do we pour out our lives,
do we love Him above all
others,
do we wash His holy feet;
Are we the perfume,
do we offer our lives
to our neighbors, the stranger
do we carry Christ’s message
His love for humanity
out into God’s world.
Are we the oil that was
offered,
the perfume, the coins on
the altar,
offering God our lives
become a lowly servant
our hair the towel, our
tears
the life, the water flowing,
that was poured out on Jesus;
Are we the offering, the fragrance,
the nard poured on Jesus
the anointing oils preparing
Christ
for His holy purpose.
Our lives our offering
as the widow’s coins, her
body,
given for Jesus, to be life,
to be a blessing for other;
Are we the perfume
anointing our Savior
an offering fragrant;
Are we poured, extravagantly,
a gift to our God, to our
neighbors;
do we fall on our knees,
trusting our whole lives to
God.
