Like a dryer sheet
placed on the lawn
not blown from somewhere
more purposeful than that
placed just so
the dew this morning
making the marker’s work
not so clandestine
the artistry, the trap
transparent to the observer
needing to wait, to be
patient,
for warming to disappear
