her gaze given a new focus
shrouding her baby
holding him in her arms
his face now veiled,
ensnared in strings of
gossamer,
obscuring the body of Christ
in the words of the spider
speaking in lines that she
drew
painted on her face
the visage of sadness set
off
in the living strings of
gossamer
