I
have seen them flying
In
the heavens, the skies,
Across
several mornings
In
the noon day sunshine
As
the day turns to night
Ephemeral
denizen of the dawn
Emblazoned
on the waking
An
aerosol archaeopteryx
Captured
for a twinkling
On
the heavens, the dome
Feathers
and ancient bones
Silhouetted
in the tracks of the sky
there
only for a fleeting, a few seconds
Like
footprints in the new-fallen snow
Darkening
blue where they tread
Rimmed
with yellow, orange, purples
And
their spectra, the color palette
Before
the blue canvas
Flying
still, soaring,
Across
the frozen skies
