All of us are witnesses
to the love of Jesus;
His presence in our lives
guiding our feet of clay
When we submit
choosing to carry His light;
We become a light to the
nations
to the ends of the earth
It is a Dream we carry
a promise of God;
Hope in our salvation
coming from the Lord
All of us called
though none of us worthy;
We are able through Christ
to come before our God
We should be humble
more caring of our neighbors;
We must see the face of
Christ
in everyone we meet
Treating them all fairly
even the stranger, the enemy;
Walking as God commands us
with love in our hearts
Only when we cleave
hold fast to our Savior;
When we let the Spirit guide
us,
our timid, trembling feet
Only when we carry God’s
light
His hope to the nations;
Only when we turn from the
world
will the promise come to
life

“changing the wind”
Based on the comments of Jim Wallis on
Speaking of Faith, November 29, 2007
He was talking about whether to change politicians
or change the wind, to change the public opinion
which guides politics. He used the example
of President Johnson’s statement to the
Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. that it would
take 5 years for a voting rights bill but
it actually took 5 months to pass the Voting Rights Act,
after the March in Selma.
