to the temple enterprise
her gift a pittance
but to her
her gift a sacrifice
all she was given
on the Lord’s altar
she gave out of her poverty
and that made the difference
they gave nothing
for it did not cost them
a nullity, for show
to hold onto power
she gave everything
all that she had;
nothing left of this world
her hope in the Lord
