costing them nothing – v2 - 2

sitting in this land of plenty
a blessed nation
abundance from sea to sea
what is our offering

seeing the story
through the eyes of Christ
where is their faith
their trust in God

do they come humbly
or to rise above the crowd
in flowing robes, loudly
their abundant offering

the gifts they gave
from their pocket change
out of their abundance
only their excess to God

they gave nothing
no cost to them at all
surplus for the temple
for false worship of God

money for the treasury
but no cost to them
no merit in their gifts
their abundant offering
