We have lost our faith

One humanity as people,

Our sense of right and wrong,

We are driven by our passions

By our own prejudice 

Our need to be right...

The temperature has risen

Escalation in our war of words

Seeing neighbors as enemies 

To be defeated at all costs

Or rhetoric toxic,

We have lost comity...
