God, grant that this place
this holy ground
would be consecrated by our prayers
our songs of praise an offering
lifting up these names
the lives of our children
praying in this place
that this time may be holy
that powerful transformation
light piercing the darkness
that healing would occur
here, in your presence,
holding them ever, lovingly
in the arms of your grace

Six Sons of the Promise
Singing our praise
our prayers being answered
coming together
six sons of the Promise
children of Abraham
growing by faith together
seeds of God’s love
planted and growing
roots in living water
rising in the Son
growing together, rising
six hearts as one.

In the whisper of the wind
The memory of Christ
what he did in his life
what he gave to us
in his sacrifice
his faithfulness
submitting to God
going to the cross
to fulfill the law, prophecy
to remove our stain, our death
leading us to victory
in the way that leads to light
Listening carefully
God still speaking to us
his Spirit moving within us
speaking in the whisper of the wind
the Spirit guiding our feet
ever to go as we are led
to Christ’s hands and feet
his presence here and now
going as we are called
to be salt of the earth
beacons of his light

stepping out in faith
not being timid
bold steps on the air
going as the Spirit calls them

Climbing the Gossamer Wind
On feet unbound
freed from the earth below
soaring on new wings of air
rising with the Christ
not bound by the yoke of sin
slaves to death no longer
making progress on the path
steps on the journey
climbing the gossamer wind
on wings bound for glory

Flying - 2
Next steps, bold leaps
from the edge of the leaves
turning inward
growing deep inside
Coming to awakening
breaking free of the past
flying on new wings
into the light with Christ
denying the darkness victory
death its sting
rising on the currents of love
life eternally

Growing within
Feeling the seeds planted
hearing their whispers
fed by the Spirit
bathed in your love
Five Young Souls
surrounded in love
wrapped in your arms
living as one
Growing, changing
up from ground
soon to gain new wings
to sail upon the breeze
Growing within, changing
the seed growing stronger
cracking through the shell of doubts
bearing fruit in their lives

A Word Shuddering Through Us
A word of judgment
convicting us, our daughter
a word shuddering through us
maybe not cancer
but a sentence none the less
a chronic illness coming to us
falling upon her
a judgment, changing
changing her life
our lives with her
now to be vigilant
conscious, away
a year ago today
the word, diabetes.

Staying Connected with God
Not timid, not complacent
standing in one place
ready for the challenge
walking in your grace
Staying active,
connected with God
moving ever with him
yoked with the Lord
Moving as a disciple
following Christ’s example
being his presence now
his presence on this earth

Separated from God
We can become distant
away from our neighbors
separated from God
sitting in our comfort
Needing to be purposeful
mindful of distractions
the things that are trying to
be a stumbling block to us
Needing to be purposeful
staying connected
moving as the Spirit calls
working with our Savior
Being his hands and feet
seeking salvation
bearing his light joyfully
even to our strangers

His Arms Opened Wide
The sacrifice of Christ
the Spirit which clothes us
the choice he made
to submit his will to God
The cup that he drank
the eternity of sorrows
the stain to his lips
making him sin
God giving us freedom
by dying to our sin
falling into the deep waters
descending to the dead
We wear Christ
his body, his armor
because he became sin, death
dying that we would have our freedom

To God’s Will
Christ, Love
God come to earth
the son, a man
submitting to God’s will
living out the father’s plan
Good, walking in the world
washing away our sin
the cup to his lips
bitter fruit of human hearts
the pure lamb
weighed down
the yoke, the cross
a crown of thorns
the cloak of our shame
humiliated for our sake
setting us from sin
walking according to God’s will

Unbalanced Scales
When we think of the exchange
nothing like even
unbalanced scales
the gift of the Lord
Nothing like even
his life for our lives
our stain for his light
our shame for his armor
protection in this life
his Spirit indwelling
walking with us
grounded in the water
standing on the foundation
abiding in the vine

Git Outta da Boat
Why are we so timid
why do we believe we are unqualified
unable to serve
happy to sit complacent
sitting in the pews, in the boat
standing on the sidelines
while people are hurting
God didn’t call us
to sit by timid,
God called us to serve
to make disciples
to spread the message
to the ends of the earth
so git outta da boat
and do our Master’s work

Our Shame for His Body
Christ took our shame
our sin, draped upon him
We receive Christ
the living Messiah
risen Savior, the Prince of Peace
cloaked in his body
drenched by his blood
made clean by his sacrifice

To God’s Will
Christ, Love
God come to earth
the son, a man
submitting to God’s will
living out the father’s plan
Good, walking in the world
washing away our sin
the cup to his lips
bitter fruit of human hearts
the pure lamb
weighed down
the yoke, the cross
a crown of thorns
the cloak of our shame
humiliated for our sake
setting us from sin
walking according to God’s will

Robed for Heaven
Robed for heaven
bodies of light
transformed from the earth
to our heavenly delight
Rising like the Christ
at the end of our days
returning to heaven
to our celestial home

Clothe Us in Love
We, disciples of the Lord
saved by his choice
redeemed by his sacrifice
Clothe us in love
the mantle, the yoke
God, love
draped upon our lives
Able to forgive our neighbors
because we are loved
strengthened, free,
following the Christ
the example of our brother
guided by the spirit
walking in the way of love

Touching Each of Our Lives
The words of Christ
of the saints who have gone before
touching each of our lives
seeking to change us
in the moment we believe
filling us with the Spirit
sent into the world
going joyfully, boldly
sharing the good news of Christ
light piercing the darkness
going where we are led
even to the ends of the earth

In a word of scripture
in a word of scripture
in our touch
our presence now with them
in the whisper of God’s call
a balm to their spirit
God can find a way
to calm us in our struggles
able to use us
as we are, flawed,
to be there for our neighbors

“FB REPOST… Jacob was a cheater, Peter had a temper, David had an affair, Noah got drunk, Jonah ran from God, Paul was a murderer, Gideon was insecure, Miriam was a gossiper, Martha was a worrier, Thomas was a doubter, Sara was impatient, Elijah was moody, Moses stuttered, Zaeccheus was short, Abraham was old, and Lazarus was dead.... Now, what's YOUR excuse? Can God use you or not? - ~~~ God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the CALLED!”

Through times of struggle
Not just in the unimaginable
in times of great trial
when disasters happen
when the world is ripped apart
We can serve our neighbors
those close by us
we can be God’s presence
through their times of struggle

God can use us
God can use us
in powerful ways
only to be open
to be willing to serve
God can use us
if we will follow
our cracked vessels ready
emptied of our choices
given over to God’s will
emptied, ready
that they may be filled
to be a blessing, poured
to lift up our neighbor
to be God’s presence
to walk beside them
in times of struggle
hoping to give them
some measure of comfort
in powerful ways
only to be open

God can use us
