Broken

I have called myself broken,

shattered, in many pieces,
but that is not a name, a word,
God has spoken over my life…
 
I felt Jesus telling me,
that name I have spoken
the word “broken” was a lie,
that I must change my thinking…
 
the word Jesus imparted,
in my mind with my eyes closed,
was “a gift”, a blessing,
to be poured on the earth…
 
I must remember this moment,
the words of release rising,
I need to see myself, my life,
from the perspective of God…
 
I have meaning, a purpose,
a calling for the kingdom,
I must strive to be that vessel,
to be filled, to be poured…

the word burning,
alive within us, blazing,
a fire in our hearts
anything but lukewarm…
 
the flames of Pentecost,
the call to be holy, righteous,
to use all that we are
for the glory of God…
 
a fire in our hearts, rising,
a calling from the Creator,
the Savior redeeming us,
filled with the Spirits flames…
 
the flames of Pentecost,
God’s commands to be righteous,
our hands, our hearts, our minds,
to the work of our lives…

I want God to forgive me

I want God to forgive me
for Him to heal me fully
for God to bless me
in spite of myself…
 
I long to walk with God
in the cool of the evening
to be reconciled to God
to be fully redeemed…
 
But I fear my betrayal
my weak confession
that I have not repented
with my whole heart…
 
I want to walk with Jesus
to feel my Savior’s hand upon me
but I walk in my sin,
my guilt and my shame…

God makes a way for us
to walk through the waters
to be healed of our brokenness
the curse of our sin…

through the sacrifice of Jesus
we are restored, made whole…
 
God alone can save us
can pay the debt we owe
we cannot redeem ourselves
no matter what we believe…
 
Only the blood of Jesus
can heal the breach between us
only God can save us
from the judgement of sin…

Heal the deep wounds within me
the ancient curse of the Garden
the attacks of the Enemy,
those who would harm me
and forgive my own iniquity,
every sin, every transgression
my rebellion against Your will…
 
Restore me, Lord, to You,
from my life in the wilderness
seeking other masters
honor in my flesh, my fears,
not walking the path,
the way You have written
Your plan for my life…
 
Save me from Your judgement

Kryvyi Rih – v2

Kryvyi Rih, not just another place
seared in our consciousness,
in the memory of these good people,
another massacre, a tragedy, genocide,
the anger of the aggressor, killing
murdering the innocents, the children,
their grandparents with them, a slaughter
because the world is complacent,
complicit in their terror, their evil,
while we sit in our comfort….
 
No, this was deliberate, personal,
a direct attack on him, the president,
a double-tap to his head, to his spirit,
to remind him of their current power,
their ability to hurt him, to attack him,
in a place where he was vulnerable,
his hometown, where his parents live,
the place he would naturally feel safe,
taken from him, in that moment,
echoes of terror, a cruel twist of fate…
 
No this wasn’t random, indiscriminate,
this was to stop him, to wick his resolve…
but now must be the moment, today,
when we change, when we wake up,
we must stand beside Abel, the victim,
to stop Cain from murdering, erasing,
the history, the culture, this nation,
Ukraine from the map of Europe,
this good and ancient peoples,
we must stand with them in the fight,
to stand in the gap with them…

our thoughts and our actions

our lusts and our desires,
our rebellion from God,
our thoughts and our actions,
have lead to condemnation,
estrangement, rebellion,
separating us from God…
 
our hearts, our spirits,
lead us to rebellion,
to our separation from God,
our thoughts lead to actions,
our minds, our spirits betray us,
our desires bring judgement from God…

God delays His wrath

God delays His wrath,
His judgement on others,
because He loves them
just as He loves us…
 
God, in His mercy,
delays judgement on our enemies,
showing them too the grace,
the mercy He shows us…
 
Gid us always righteous,
He will bring a day of justice,
but God pours out mercy,
upon each one of us…

sharpening our iron

our pain for a purpose
our suffering for our calling,
everything we go through,
for the goodness of God…
 
suffering builds perseverance,
a resolve to follow, to grow,
sharpening our iron
for the fight to come…
 
everything for a purpose,
the heart of God’s goodness,
every test a step,
in revealing our true self…
 
God loves us in the journey,
in our trials, our struggles,
God holds us, He is with us
in the dust of that road…

Holding onto those struggling

reaching for our friends, our neighbors,
holding onto those who struggle,
knowing God has walked with us,
on our pain, on this road…
 
sharing moments with them,
holding onto those who struggle,
being a friend, a neighbor,
to those bleeding in the street…
 
offering aid and comfort,
holding onto those who struggle,
arms to hold them in their pain,
to be Christ’s hands and feet…
