We lament, we cry out

We lament, we cry out,
“God, why?!?”
an emptiness, a pain,
faith does not touch…
 
Evil, sin, estrangement,
pain we cannot comprehend,
not giving everything to God,
the source of our strength…
 
Open wounds, unmended,
scar tissue still bleeding,
hurt, pain we carry,
that we don’t trust to God…
 
We still lament, we cry out,
“God, why?!?”, We carry
an emptiness, a pain,
that our faith does not touch…
