After the melon baller,
Empty, a shell,
Nothing left of worth…
 
Ready for the rot pile,
If we are lucky,
A body blow, a sledgehammer,
Nothing left but numb…

conforming to the Spirit,
adopt a servant’s heart,
take up your cross daily…

of our daily lives,
opportunities for praise,
for joy, for worship,
raised up to heaven,
to God’s listening ear…
 
within our prayers, our witness,
our confession of God’s presence,
in the midst of our journey,
a message of hope, compassion,
opportunities for prayer,
for love, for faith, certainty,
of God’s presence with us,
in all of our days…

Faith in this moment,
of toil, of struggle,
rising from earth,
falling from heaven
to cleanse the world…
 
Healing rain falling,
washing over the earth,
our joy welling up,
falling, rising,
in love, in return…
 
Love of the Father,
seated in heaven,
of our risen, Lord Jesus,
the Spirit indwelling,
guiding our steps…
 
Healing rain falling,
washing our sin, our fear,
cleansing our brokenness,
renewing our spirits,
our bodies within…

Skin-tight dresses
go-go dancers,
revealing supple bodies,
movement, dancing,
swaying to the music…
 
Moving faster, harder,
shaking, shaking, spinning,
riding the tide of the music,
higher, higher, crescendo,
freeze, hold the pose…
 
Dance in the bark,
many dancers,
twisting, turning,
captured, frozen,
unmistakable lines…

The dance of the bark – v2

Skin-tight dresses
of the go-go dancers,
revealing their supple bodies,
their movement, dancing,
swaying to the music…
 
Moving faster, harder,
shaking, shaking, spinning,
riding the tide of the music,
higher, higher, crescendo,
freeze, hold the pose…
 
Dance of the bark
the many dancers,
twisting, turning,
captured, frozen,
in unmistakable lines…
