Our desires, our flesh,
Leads to sin, to death…

To stray, to wander,
To sin in our bodies
To turn from God…
 
We are tempted
By evil in our living
Our walking on the earth
In our daily lives…
 
We are tempted
But we must reject
Their calling, the sirens,
We must turn to God…

We all have sinned,
we all have skeletons,
demons in our closets,
we all have fallen short
We all have sinned before God…
 
We all have sinned,
but God protects us, saves us,
from our demons, our trials,
when we have fallen short,
When we have sinned before God…
 
We all have sinned,
we all have skeletons,
but God has grace, mercy,
God provides protection over us,
We each are redeemed, restored by God…
 
We all have sinned,
but God protects us, guides us,
with His hand of grace, His mercy,
whenever we have fallen short,
When we have sinned before God…

My enemies have been stopped,
they have not killed me
even when I am guilty,
when I have sinned,
when I have fallen short…
 
My enemies have been defeated,
they have not killed me,
I have not been destroyed,
my life still has purpose,
a calling, the protection of God…
 
My enemies have not killed me,
from within me, from without,
I am still living, I receive mercy,
I have not been destroyed,
even when I have fallen short…

Scripture speaks of judgement,
The destruction of evil,
God will strike our enemies,
They will be as dust…
 
But God doesn’t say
How they will be punished,
When that judgment will come
In this world or the next…
 
We just proclaim God’s presence,
His protection over us, our lives,
We walk in our trust, our faith,
That God is by our side…
 
God does say, He is silent,
How they will be punished,
God just calls us to have faith,
To trust in His goodness…

Who are my enemies,
What does grace look like,
How You protect me, You lift me,
From my worries, my struggles,
You raise me from the dead…
 
Who are my enemies,
What Your righteousness looks like,
Your judgement, Your mercy,
A mystery, a truth, to release
To not hold onto our struggles…

I trust You Lord, but I don’t see You,
I struggle in this present darkness,
Satan seems to be in control, in power,
Here upon Your earth, in this moment…
 
Show me You have vanquished my enemies,
This promise in holy scripture written,
Was this only for David, Your shepherd,
The King above Your flock…?
 
I trust You Lord, but I don’t see You,
Increase my vision, my wisdom,
Show what You have done in my life,
That my enemies have been vanquished…
 
Show me how these words of scripture
Relate to my way, to our walks,
That this is a universal promise,
That this is how You protect the flock…

We are more than conquerors,
we are God’s redeemed people,

The grit of your people – v2

In your actions on the world stage,
we see the same fortitude, resolve,
an ability to stay focused, determined,
to prevail in the face of horror
repeating each day, in your cities,
in your homeland, in the grind,
the battle to save your nation,
to stand united, resolute…
 
Your ability to rise above the carnage,
the terror, the chaos, all of this is
so emblematic of the resolve,
bravery, the courage, the grit,
of all the people of Ukraine,
through all these years, a decade,
of Russian terror and genocide…
 
The world, the West must change,
in this moment, the existential threat,
the wanton destruction, crimes,
we must rise to the challenge,
that you all have faced, resolute,
to provide you with the shield,
the sword to defend yourself…
 
Hope rises to the skies, to heaven,
triumphant, surely, for it must,
From the grit of your people,
from the resolve of your nation,
we can see a hopeful future,
you will achieve victory and
a just peace will surely rise…

Focus on what is good
in your thoughts, in your actions,
focus on what is admirable, worthy,
that which is merciful, just…
 
Be at peace in each moment,
in whatever your circumstance,
live into your calling, your purpose,
while you walk this earth…
 
Focus on what is good,
that which is righteous, noble,
aspire to live a life, repentant,
knowing the cost of God’s grace…

Breathe Wisdom on my clay – v2

Oh Lord, I come before You,
oh God, oh my Father,
You are the Potter,
I am broken, soft clay,
reach for me with Your hands,
teach me, mold me, heal me,
help me walk in Your ways…
 
Breathe Wisdom on my clay
give new life to me, each day,
let Your Truth bleed within me,
may Your Word be a light to my path,
help me to walk closer to You,
touch me, mold me, heal me,
oh God, my Lord, today …

Our joy is in a person – v2

Our joy is manifest, alive,
our joy is in one person,
the living Word come to earth,
Christ, the Word made Flesh…
 
Our joy is complete
from the beginning,
Christ came to set us free
to raise us up to heaven…
 
Our joy is in a person
In the person of Jesus
He brought heaven to earth,
He reconciled ourselves to Him…

We deceive ourselves with lies,
when we claim to be righteous,
when we do not confess our sins
to God, to our fellow man…
 
We deceive ourselves, we are in denial,
when we say we don’t need forgiveness
when we lie to ourselves, to God,
and to our fellow man…
 
We deceive ourselves, hubris,
when we say we are self-made,
when we believe in ourselves
not in God, our fellow man…

We all need forgiveness – v2

All of us are broken,
all of us sin against God,
against our fellow man…
 
We all need forgiveness,
from God, from our Father,
we all receive grace, forgiveness,
through our risen Lord Jesus.
 
All of us are broken,
none of us are worthy,
all of us need the grace of God…
 
We all are made of dust, of clay,
we all receive grace, forgiveness,
when we turn our lives to Jesus;
Holy Spirit guide our steps…

Are we seeing angels

Do we see angels
spirits descending, dancing,
in the whisper of clouds
is God so close, so present,
is heaven as close as breath…
 
The Spirit choreographs,
leading a heavenly chorus,
whispers riding, lifted
on the clouds, falling,
rising, kissing the sky…
 
Are we seeing angels
The dome above us,
the heavens, the dance alive,
spirits singing to us,
singing praises unto God…

do we see angels in the whisper of clouds

Do we see angels in the whisper of clouds
is God so close, so present, heaven as close as breath,
the Spirit leading a heavenly chorus, whispers

We all need forgiveness

All of us are broken
All of us sin, against God,
Against our fellow man…
 
We all need forgiveness,
From God, from our Father,
We all receive grace, forgiveness,
