a daughter of Eve

More than most others
the women of the bible
Mary in the garden
that blessed Easter morning

a daughter of Eve
of that other garden
staying vigil
faithful to Jesus

the first to see him
risen, alive
a daughter of Eve
faithful to our Lord

At the cross
when others ran away
blessed by the risen Jesus
because she had stayed
