laws that negate and oppress others

We are called by the world
by our society
to obey their laws
though they hurt our brothers, our sisters
even those whom we call others
laws that negate and oppress them
because they are different

God calls us to love,
to love as Christ loves us
not separating peoples,
bringing people together
none of us better or worse
all of sacred worth to God
laws that are easy, the yoke is light
bringing the different together
all sheep of one flock
