The bread dipped
into His cup
like clay given life
eating to remember
the grace of His life
Our eyes opened suddenly
like scales dropping away
the meal forever different
amazed to see Jesus
right before our face
His life, His sacrifice
remembered to the day
in the meal we share
Intoned in the words
we share as we pray
Remembering His life
His death on the cross
His unconditional love
giving us life,
when we deserve the cross
