I don’t pause in the church
I don’t sit on the darkened
pew
after the sun sets
I keep busy, working,
playing out my faith
not changing, not really
Afraid if God spoke
if the Spirit, the dove,
descended from the stained
glass
what would Christ ask of me
and how I would answer.
