Designs of their culture – v3 #Ukraine #Vyshyvanka #Pysanky #tryzub

Beauty in their intricacy,
designs of their culture,
symbols evoking memory,
their identity as a people,
things that sing aloud, a chorus,
this is who they are, this is Ukraine…
 
Like the wheat ripening in fields,
an azure-blue sky overhead,
the tryub, the raven, the poplar,
love of their country, the Kobzars,
their stories, their memories,
written in intricate lines…
 
They wear their embroidered Vyshyvanka,
A connection to each region, family,
Ancient traditions, woven threads,
they share Pysanky eggs for Easter,
on either side of the Dnipro,
on the mainland, in Crimea,
together, they stand as one…
