He is the Kobzar, the truth teller,
the Kozak, the hero, glory,
Hetman of their spirit,
lifeblood of his people,
the soul of Ukraine…
 
He rises from his tomb,
high above the Dnipro,
he flies over his homeland,
speaking the power of freedom,
his one hope for Ukraine…
 
He is the model, the exemplar,
voice of his people, his homeland,
love of country, his calling,
Hetman of their spirit,
the soul of Ukraine…
