ancient words of judgment

the stones falling around her
none standing righteous
all burdened with sin...
 
by the same measure
the words written in the dust
God is fully aware
their sins present, living,
filling their minds...
 
they left her with Jesus
a sinner uncondemned
called to righteous,
to turn from her past...
 
so too we stand condemned
as children of Adam
and by the sins we carry
but we do not have to fear
the judgment of others...
Jesus' hand sweeps the dust...
