Looking out Burns' window - v3

Touching the poet, emotion erupting,
standing in the room where he was born
looking out Burns' window,
the village, his hometown,
In the land of my ancestors.
 
Touching his presence, power,
in the room where he grew up,
feeling kinship, connection,
at the beginning, poetry,
here, words entering my life.

I hear you calling to me – v3

Walking across the parking lot,
From the bank to the store,
Raising my eyes to the sky,
Feeling a stirring in my spirit,
A voice within the light, the clouds...
 
I hear you calling to me,
Across the Highlands,
Across time, across the ocean,
In verse, in rhyme, In rhythm,
In a language of my ancestors,
The place of their birth, and yours.
 
I was touched by your presence,
Standing in your room, the cottage,
Looking out your window
The village, your hometown,
The heather, the Highlands,
Your time and space.
 
I remember still that stirring,
Feeling kinship, connection,
To you, to your passions,
At the beginning, poetry,
When words entered my life.

I hear you calling to me - v2
