did they ever see – v2

Life came from Him
risen from the grave
the disciples in hiding
not knowing what to believe.

Given wisdom, seeing
oh boy, did they ever see!
Christ appearing to them,
all He had promised;
they believed!

He will be raised – v2

He will be raised
He will rise from the ashes,
from the pit of death
in victory, to glory

He will be raised
exalted in the highest heaven,
the Suffering Servant
raised to the heights

asking the stranger to stay – v2

Asking the stranger to stay
not knowing this was Jesus;
but wanting to spend more time
with the teacher with them.

Asking the stranger to stay
to break the bread with them,
in this seeing Jesus,
the Savior there with them.

He was real, alive – v2

Needing to walk with them
to fulfill prophecy
the words He had spoken
in the upper room.

He was not a ghost,
an apparition;
He was real, alive -
God in the flesh.

Jesus rose, is risen,
as He said He would;
Riven, here with us
proof He was the Christ.
