to carry forward

the plans of God

to become the king

the Savior

for His people.

Not the one

that the world

would choose

not the oldest, strongest

the most worthy

God chooses

the one able, ready

receiving God’s seeds

each moment a gift

each day a blessing

given to us by God

for a purpose

important, vital

for the kingdom, for work

to draw us closer

to the One who gave us life

receiving God’s seeds

those continually scattered

to be good soil ever

while we walk this earth

each with meaning

that I would receive new blessings

to share with the world.

the younger brother

not the first-born

marked with a purpose

driven, focused

not a perfect person

opportunistic, cheating

manipulating his brother

to gain the inheritance

his birthright forsaken
