the gordian knot in the gut of democracy,
on this day before July4th.
the tug to the right, to the left,
the pit, the pendulum,  no equilibrium
racism, destruction, open #rebellion
forces aligning, dividing,
ripping apart the united
the status of our nation
people inflamed/ authoritarian,
power, injustice, chaos
no peace in this moment
a pandemic spreading, rising,
people without income, desperate
for a leader, a hero, the Rule of Law
