A Gift of Life

Earning the wages of sin,
Death lays before me,
All my mistakes, my turning,
Away from the path of God.
 
A gift of life, eternal,
In our Lord and Savior,
Taking of sin upon Himself,
Climbing the cross for us.
 
The wages of sin is death,
Earned in every failing,
The gift of God is eternal life,
Paid by our Savior.
