Too long have I been broken – v2

Too long have I been broken,
unsure of my direction, my purpose,
feeling certain that I am on the wrong path,
but not knowing how to change, to turn,
anxiety, depression, worry the chains I carry,
wanting to have meaning in my life, a calling,
to find love in this life, hope in my dreams…
 
Too long have I been broken,
choosing to follow, to bend my will,
to set down my hopes, my dreams, trapped,
soldiering on, ever, head down, eyes forward,
not seeing what I have lost, what I didn’t choose,
lost in the world, on a path not my own, wandering,
unsure of anything, within my spirit, my soul…
 
Too long have I been broken,
but God still reaches for me, for each of us,
calling us by name, for a calling, a purpose,
loving us as we are, even though we curse Him,
when we stray, we wander, God still makes a way,
a path for us to follow, to turn, to find a hope, a hope,
a reason for our living, meaning for our days…
