Praise is an illusion,
As fleeting as a rainstorm,
A breath, a whisper,
A drop in the ocean,
In the ether, of life...
 
Praise is fickle,
Fleeting, a cypher,
An opioid, a drug,
A lie we tell ourselves,
When the spotlights are on…
