We must linger while we tarry

We must stop, we must listen,
We must linger while we tarry,
We must pause by grace,
out of love for one another…

We must stand in the gap,
We must offer them comfort,
We must be present with them
when they share a need…

We must linger while we tarry,
We must share with one another
We are called to be in community,
as we walk this stretch of road…

We are to care for one another,
We are to bear with them in love,
We are to be a balm, a comfort,
when they share a need…
