We are capturing bits of gossamer,
Magic, lightning in a bottle,
scribbling lines of ether, of breath,
strings of creation, of eternity,
gathered from the Spirit,
sharing mysteries of life, of faith…
We are writing down images, memory,
hope, joy, streaming, ever-present,
conjured from the wind…
 
Beauty is all around us,
Poetry Where You Live…
 
We are gathering something unseen,
Invisible, or neglected, yet present,
seed of the eternal, a germ
of creation, the cosmos above us,
of the heart of the living God…
There is beauty in God’s written Word,
planted deep within us, anchored,
in nature all around us….
 
Love surrounds us,

A #dolphin in the world – v3

Trapped for this time, now, living,
a dolphin in the world, moving,
too pale for the sun, burning,
driven from the sea, the water
up onto the land, an alien,
living as a mortal, a human,
to walk this solid ground…
 
Drawn to the water by his spirit,
returning to the water’s edge,
feeling the pull of the tides, the waters,
standing on the shore, peering,
searching the water for movement,
looking for home, connection once more,
to what once was, what might have been,
to the mystery, the truth out there…

I do not hold the words too tightly – v3

I do not hold the words too tightly,
bits of eternity, of God’s promise,
finding their way onto my keyboard,
my fingers taking flight, soaring,
like on eagles’ wings descending,
brushing the face of the earth…
 
I do not hold the words too tightly,
a treasure of the infinite, of God,
bits of gossamer, of whimsy,
captured from the ether, the mystery,
held in the fowler's net, banded,
released just as quickly into the air ...
 
I do not hold the words too tightly,
the mystery of creation, whispered,
because they are never truly mine;
I am the vessel, the amanuensis,
to gather the words from the ether
to give God’s breath eternal life...

Touched by the water, marked by its scent,
Living waters of life, washing me,
Healing me, transforming me,
Forever changed, redeemed,
by God's infinite grace...
 
Raised from my ashes, my death,
Bathed in the waters, washed,
Drenched in Christ’s blood,
Raised with Him, forever,
In waters of God's love...

Touched by these waters

Touched by these waters,
Living waters of life,
Marked by its scent, its touch,
Forever changed, redeemed,
Forever by God's grace...
 
Raised from my ashes,
Bathed in the waters,
Drenched in Christ’s blood,
Raised with Him, Forever,
In the waters of God's love...

Before the light fails – v2

Gathering a few more seashells,
not needing to be perfect,
slowly walking northward,
shortly after sunset,
an hour past high tide…

Drinking in the sounds of the ocean,
wind over my left shoulder,
capturing these moments,
memories for me to treasure, 
to hold onto, when I am far from the water…

I walk more slowly yet, searching the horizon,
knowing this is one of my last times
on this beach, by this water,
on the island, on these sands
that I have loved so well...
