Teaching Our Faith

Our parents, and grandparents
perhaps more than all others
teaching us our faith
the core of what we believe

In their living,
lessons with their witness
what they did more important
than what they said to us

Teaching our faith
growing seeds of the spirit
living, indwelling
within our beating hearts

The example of our savior
mirrored in their own lives

in the witness of their lives
