Ingrained into this people
the people of God
the nation formed around the promise
the covenant with God
Their instinctive response worthy
pulling back from their action
Christ claiming the ancient name
the one, our deity
They fell back from their advance
they fell to the ground as Abram had
only his words calling to them
faithful to God’s plan
Only by Christ’s action
bound, arrested that night
fulfilling all prophecy
giving them the Lamb
