Christ couldn’t have spoken more plainly
words of life, of truth, of challenge,
the truth of His identity, our own,
spoken by Jesus in the temple courts
rebuking the leaders, the teachers,
all of Abraham’s descendants,
children of Satan, slaves to our sin.
Christ couldn’t have spoken more plainly
His judgment, His condemnation,
the Truth cutting so deeply, bleeding,
from the leader, the teachers, the elders,
all who stood in judgment, challenging,
seeking to kill their Messiah,
Jesus, the living Son of God
