“Leave your life of sin;
go now, my sister;
change your ways;
conform to the Law,”
spoken in love, in mercy.
Not a condemnation,
but a command,
from the lips of Jesus
rising from His writing
words written in the sand.
“Leave your life of sin,”
a rebuke but oh so gentle,
offered to the one caught
alone in the temple courts
not a condemnation.
