Worse than most

The challenge in their question,
how I see myself, a sinner,
echoes of the tax collector,
his prayer, my thoughts…
 
Worse than most,
my sins feel like weights,
a burden on my spirit,
all that I have lost…
 
I am in sackcloth and ashes,
repentant of my ways,
I long to walk with Jesus,
the Savior of my days…
