Taras’ prayer,
the Kobzar’s lament,
far from his homeland
the black soil, the poplars,
the source of his strength
All that had been taken
most of his life in exile
far from the springs, the waters,
the well of his spirit…
 
His testament, Zapovit,
the truth of his longing
all that he is, eternal,
his yearning, his prayer,
to be returned, restored,
His body and his spirit
in the black soil of his homeland,
returned to the Dnipro,
His beloved Ukraina…
